Pool Equipment Repairs in Las Colinas Golf, Orihuela: Salt System and Gauge Fix

12 September 2026

A routine inspection in Las Colinas Golf turned up bigger pool equipment issues

At a property in Las Colinas Golf, Orihuela, what began as a standard pool equipment inspection quickly became a targeted repair visit. The pump was operating, but the filter pressure gauge was stuck, and the salt chlorinator was not keeping the pool water sanitised as it should. The system was still running, but the warning signs pointed to a pool that could lose filtration quality and salt chlorination if the faults were left alone.

What the inspection revealed

The full checklist was worked through on site: pump operation, leak checks, heater inspection, timer settings, GFCI safety equipment tests, and O-ring lubrication. The inspection confirmed several issues that needed attention. The PVC pipe union connected to the pump was cracked and leaking, which is a problem that often gets worse quickly once the pump cycles through high pressure. Filter pressure was elevated and scale had built up around the gauge area, making the old gauge unreliable. The salt cell had been removed from the plumbing, and its electrodes were taken out for cleaning before the system could be reassembled.

Repairs that brought the equipment back under control

The pump connector was changed to eliminate the cracked pipe union and stop the drip at the equipment pad. A new filter pressure gauge was fitted to replace the stuck unit, so future pressure readings would be accurate and easy to monitor. The chlorinator was changed and the salt cell was reinstalled once the electrodes were clean. Every repair was checked against the inspection findings before the system was turned back on.

The result: normal pressure and a working salt system

After the repairs, the filter pressure returned to normal, and the cracked pipe union was replaced and sealed with no visible water escaping. The salt chlorinator was back in the plumbing and ready to keep the pool water clear. Fixing the leak and gauge early also helps protect the pump and filtration circuit from more serious damage later.
